Martinez Sports Development runs a 9U travel team, weekend skills classes and a physical training program for ballplayers 7 to 12. Small groups, real reps, and a coach who knows every kid by name.

All classes & sign-up

$30 per player, per hour, in a group of 4 — capped so every player gets coached, not just supervised. If a class shows as full, call or text (310) 528-6143 and we will find your player a slot.

The development program

Every class covers one thing, and covers it properly

All weekend classes are $30 per player, per hour, with 4 players to a group. Same rate whichever skill we are working on — pay per session, nothing to sign up for long term.

Hitting & approach

Tee work, front toss and live at-bats. We build a short, repeatable swing and teach hitters what pitch to want.

Infield & outfield defense

Footwork, first step, glove position and throwing. Hundreds of ground balls and fly balls, the right way.

Pitching & throwing

Clean arm action and command before velocity. Every player learns to throw with intent and protect the arm.

Baserunning & game IQ

Leads, reads, tags and the little plays that decide a close game. Knowing what to do before the ball is hit.

Coach Rafa Martinez

Fundamentals first, then let them play

Rafa Martinez coaches the 9U travel team and runs every weekend class out of our home field near Culver’s Marina. The approach is simple: teach the fundamentals properly, keep the groups small enough that nobody stands around, and send players home knowing one thing they got better at today.

It is a youth program, so it stays a youth program — confidence first, results second, and every kid gets coached like they matter.
